Is really long hair an a teenage girl pretty or ugly, tacky or tastefull?

I've been wondering what other people think. Im pretty tall and I have long light brown hair, right to my butt and I get alot of mixed opinions from my friends and people I meet. Some people tell me I should get it cut and other say I shouldnt. I personally love my hair and wear it down most of the time.

What do you think??

SOME length looks nice but it can end up looking like u dont really take care of it... this is just my opinion but if you want the length to stay at ur butt then i'd get some layers and keep it trimmed every couple months to get rid of the split ends.. thats what can make it look really bad... but if u dont mind losing some length then i would take about 4-5 inches off... itll still be long but i think it'd look a little better.

depends how u have it.. theres some people with gorgeous long hair and then theres some where it looks like "ewww get a cut" so it all depends on how u do ur hair and how it looks...

If you're looking to impress guys, go shorter. Make sure it's "styled" (plenty of layers, maybe curl it, etc).

I think you are really lucky to have that long hair, and I wouldn't do anything with the length!! Is it all one length? Layers would make your style look a little more up-to-date, but unless you reeeeeally don't like your hair long, i'd keep it that way. =)

I don't like it when it's that long because it looks like you can't afford to get a haircut which you probably can but I would cut it shorter and give the hair you cut to Locks of Love, but hey if you love it then keep it like it is. It's only your opinioun that counts!

okay long hair can be good cut maybe 4 inches off of it then cut long bangs 2 the side and its usually a very cute look

i have hair down past my butt and people tell me different things i always wear my hair down but the golden rule is if you manage it well and keep it looking healthy (and you love it) then keep it

tasteless.... really long hair tends to look stringy and sometimes unhealthy....theres often to style to it... because its just long..

You answered it yourself, you love your hair. Then keep it. Who cares what other people think, they wear their hair the way they want to, right? Wear it up, wear it down, you got options. Its your hair. If you cut it, and hate it, its going to take a long time to get it back.

hair that's longer isn't tacky. i think if you get it trimmed regularly and maintain it to a length that you like, it won't matter what other people think. oh and be sure to wash it everyday, because greasy hair is just ew.

It depends on how it looks. If it's long, healthy and kinda styled, then it's probably pretty. If it's long and unhealthy, then you probably need to cut it to where it's healthy.

As long as you get your hair trimmed usually and keep it maintained and it looks healthy, your long hair should be looking great! I think that you should only cut it if your ends are looking scraggly, or if your long hair is getting to hard to handle. If you still want your long hair and are looking for a change, just get a few inches cut off. But the important thing is how you feel about your hair, so if you love it, keep it!

If you can sit on your hair it is too long. I used to have long hair when i was younger and now looking back I think "what was I thinking" I could sit on that stuff. Unless it is silky and beautiful you probably need to get it cut.

If you personally love your hair it shouldn't matter what other people do- if anything your friends may be sending you mixed messages because your hair causes more attention to be focused on you. As you get older, it does seem like longer hair is a faux-pas in the workplace but the great thing is that you are young. Your teenage years are for experimentation so have long hair as you wish- just make sure that they aren't looking at you because your hair is in such bad condition. Pretty long hair is attractive but ratted long hair is not. Just take care of it and when you finally do decide to cut it off, give it to locks of love. It may be able to make wigs for 2 cancer patients!

my hair is past my butt and I love it!! so many people say "I love your hair" but what matters is what you want, if you like it keep it for crying out loud! it doesn't matter if it is hot or cute it's what you want and that's good enough for any one. keep it!!!
