Funny question but would you freak out if your wife wants to chop off her long hair??
I'm wanting to donate my hair to I believe the cause is Locks for Life (wigs for children with cancer) and my husband is making it seem like it's the end of the world. I put it that what if it was our daughter who had cancer, wouldn't we do it.
Then he asked if it was a tax write off! Ha ha, don't get hard on him-- He loves my long hair.

My wife used to have long hair. It was beautiful. I am very partial to long hair on women. She up and decided one day to just cut it off...short. I could deal with it if it were a health issue. I would have been happy if she would have at least donated it. I am just left to look at what I consider a really bad haircut on my wife. She claims to love it. I say nothing. I cannot imagine a worse look for my wife, but it is her hair. The unfortunate part is I have to look at it, and I don't like to. The bottom line is that it is your hair to do what you please with. It does however effect others. Good luck.

Sorry, but I would keep my hair. My husband loves my hair long and there is no way I would cut it. It's a great cause, but not all of us can pull off short hair!

My hair is down to my rear.....my man would not like me to cut it but I actually had 14 inches cut off about 8 years ago and sent to locks of love......it is NOT tax deductable, by the way....

Long hair and short hair, it depends on how the woman looks. If you are beautiful, you are beautiful. Maybe he just never saw you with short hair all his life.

It is absolutely devastating to a man when his wife or girl wants to cut off her long hair and make it short. I am one of those men. My girlfriend told me that "it could grow back." It never did. She kept it short thereafter. We men tend to love women with long hair. Consider cutting off about 12 inches, but not more. Locks for Life and those other companies have their minimum cutoffs. I feel for your husband. Part of your beauty, to him, is the length of your hair.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
Hair length shouldn't matter, you're still the same woman, long or short. Donating your hair to a worthy cause is commendable, go for it!
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
No i wouldn't freak out and no its not the end of the world. Were still young and alive and it will grow back. What you want to do is a nobale cause and if it makes you feel good then go for it. Oh and by the way my wife does have long hair. Its been permed and dyed recently, and if its been chemically treated they wont take it. But I'm sure you knew that!!
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
My wife had beautiful long hair for years. She donated hers to Wigs For Kids. It was a big change, but I like her hair the way it is now, too.
Besides, if you both really prefer it long, it'll grow back...
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
Urg, well, I guess I wouldn't "freak" but I sure wouldn't be happy about it! I would try to console myself by reminding myself that she was doing it for such a good cause. It would take me a long time to get used to her with short hair, but I would try to keep a positive attitude about it.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
Long hair is one of my favorites on a woman! However, it is your hair and it is for a worthy cause so I would have no problem with it. After all, even though he likes your long hair, he (hopefully) loves you and will understand and accept. If he doesn't give me a call. lol. Good luck!
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
The whole point of it is it's a sacrifice... It's a very special and caring person who would make a personal sacrifice for others.
Imagine being the chemo patient who has had their hair fall out. Now imagine being a teen or tween. How awful.
Your hair will grow back. Promise him you will grow it long again, but that this is really important to you.
In the end, it's your hair. It's truly up to you.
And.... get a crazy, fab long wig for foolin' around if that's his issue. Maybe a new color/style so that he can pretend he's with another woman... hahahaha... just kidding.
My hubby likes my hair long as well, but I know he'd deal with it if I wanted to donate it to cancer patients...
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
Well I wouldnt freak out, but I do love the long hair look.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
My wife just donated her hair...Yes I was a little weird at first, but then when I saw her I was,,really,,really pleased,,, :o)
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
I have a sick 10y/o little girl, not with cancer but anyways I can see that you are trying to do a wonderfull thing. maybe, and i mean this in a good way, if he visited a childrens hospital it might just touch his heart as it has yours. Talking about sick children and actually living it and seeing it are two different things. I'm sure he's a great guy and he will probably come around. By the way,my daughter donated her hair as well:) Good Luck!!

First off, "Locks of Love" wouldn't EXIST if married/mature women didn't cut their hair short/shorter in its support.. right? (It's not teen-girls that would think to support this cause.) My wife did this, over the summer.. and we know at least 5-6 married women that have grown it longer, to cut it for this Organization.
Now, why do MEN like or care about longer hair? (it's deep-seeded, in the brain). Longer hair isn't a chosen hairstyle (with humans, evolutionarily-speaking) -- it's a natural occurance with women and it happens in young men for the SAME reason... to give babies something to grip/hold onto as your/our ancestors CARRIED them. This is why older men, lose their hair.. as nature has stamped them for Not being of child-raising/fathering years (and obviously, the deep-seeds why women would rather a man WITH hair, conversely!). In our society, that matters less.. now.
Men are drawn to women with longer hair -- because it's a knee-jerk response to MATING. Long hair = capable of carrying children = able to mate... get it? That's all there is, to it. We're animals (some of us, more than others). But, course.. cutting hair for a woman is a matter of style and I'd take a short-haired Winona Ryder or Tom Cruise's wife.. into the hay, just as easily as Shakira if either one of them offered... although I'd most likely SURVIVE the time with Winona...

It will be an adjustment for him, but tell him about the kids that you're helping and have him remember that while YOUR hair will grow back... THEIRS probably won't.
=)
(Answering because my husband and I have had this discussion - he likes my hair long, I'm about ready to whack it off for LoL!)
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
i like my wife's hair long, but it is just hair. i would love her no matter what she did with her hair, and if she had a good reason like what you are talking about, i would definately support her choice to do it.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
Hair can always grow back, the children with cancer, their hair will continue to fall out as long as they are getting radiation treatment. My sister and i do the same thing. we grow our hair and dontates it, then turn around and regrow it again and does the same thing. Those children appreciate that people care enough to do that for them. If our husbands were to complain, hell we would just tell them to grow their own damn hair.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
So long as she didn't shave her head bald I wouldn't care. Keep some hair up there to have some style to it, but other than that, feel free.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
Men and long hair...I know what you mean. I was in a very long-term relationship with a guy who freaked out whenever I even mentioned cutting my hair. The first thing I did when we broke up was chop it all off. :)
I have donated to Locks for Love before - about 17" worth. It's such a worthwhile cause.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
I like long hair and when my wife cut hers to shoulder length I was dissapointed. If you know he loves it, why change it. Sure its a good cause, but he is your husband. Find some other way to donate to a charity. You wouldn't like it if your husband gave away something you loved, regardless of if it was to a good cause or not, you would still be unhappy about it.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
i`d throw away any thing with britney spears on it. j/k. it would probably freak me out for a good while but eventually i`d get over it because i love my wife not her hair
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
I'd freak out too. Long hair on women is much more attractive, in my opinion.
Keep your hair, and send cash.
And then thank God that your daughter is healthy!
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
i'd have a complete sht fit . donate money , time , but not the hair-not the dmn hair

YOUR HUSBAND IS THE CHILD IN THE FAMILY ISN'T HE?
To poster China: Who cares if her husband likes long hair! IT IS ONLY HAIR!! DO YOU REALIZE THIS OR DO YOU NEED REMINDED!? Those children have cancer you moron. What is more important, helping them have some hair, or your boosted ego and concern for husbands getting what they want. You are such a loser.
Who cares if he will like it or not. Does he love you, or your hair? LOL Do what you want to honey. If you don't you will resent him. Let him cry, kick, scream, and pout over you cutting your hair. He will get over it, and if not, you haven't lost much. God, men are the biggest babies in the world. I only know one who isn't. And, unfortunately, he isn't related to me.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
No I wouldn't freak out, the hair will grow again.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
Its a good cause and I would understand. But long flowing hair gets my blood a pumping :P

My daughter, when she was 12 last year, donated her hair to Locks of Love for cancer patients. It was her grandma's 4 year anniversary for being cancer-free after treatment for breast cancer. She's doing it again this year as well. She's also going to get her school involved this time around.
Men only---with wives who have long hair!?
Short hair on women is silly and butch. Yes, I'd freak if she cut her hair too short.
