Messy Bun for long hair?

I have long hair... but i can't seem to get it up into a messy bun. I can get it into a messy bun that is ReAlLy messy and unattractive - but can i have some steps in how to create a good messy bun that is simple to do and i can just wear to school? thx

i have long hair too. just put it up in a mid high ponytail and put a hair tye in. then take another one and wrap your hair up till it looks like the bun u want and then put another tie in. if there are stray hairs that u dont like, use bobbypins, the color of ur hair, to make the perfect bun

Oh yeah, that's pretty easy!

Alrighty, first put your hair in a high ponytail.

Then, grab the end of the pony tail and twist it til it becomes like a bun.

Use a rubber band to hold it all together!

The secret is to not use a brush when you put your hair in a ponytail!

I use to have super long hair until i cut off 1 foot and 2 inches. I use to put it up how i want it pretty tight. then I would either sleep in it like that or take a blow dryer and a comb and lightly sweep it the opposite way. If you have layers it will work better.

my hair is almost to my butt and this is what i do.

first i wet all my hair down. then i put it into a ponytail.

i put gel or mousse for scrunching in it, then i kinda scrunch it into a messy bun, put a hair tie to keep it in place, but i leave a lot of the hair falling out so it doesnt look dumb. then the hair that is falling out that needs to be part of the bun i use bobby pins and pin it up, and usually its a fairly large messy bun but its super cute! and i also tie a ribbon around it! lol
