good luck as a dog groomer i recomend you keep it shorter because its going to matt up unless you comb not brush but comb this dog constantly like once a day atleat maybe twice a day. and give it a bath once a month and a small trim once a month (professional trim from a groomer) just around its eyes, butt and feet for sanitary reasons. Your groomer can give you more suggestions. Everyone starts off with long hair and eventually go short because its alot of matinence

Try a hair and Coat Supplement. I have been giving my golden retrievers and my dalmation Natur Vet's Ultimate Skin and Coat Supplement (with omega fatty acids) and by golly - it's worked! One of my Goldens' fur (she used to have bald patches and lacked an undercoat) is plusher and longer and all the bald patches have filled out while my dalmation now has a velvet sheen.
