How long does it take for you to use the flat iron on long hair?

should we blow-dry it first? we each spend about 45 mins. with the flat iron....do we need a better one?

lots of questions i know ...but me and my daughter have long hair and are trying to figure out the flat irons and how much time to allow each morning on it and how to make it look shiny afterwards. we use biolage products mostly for washing and detangling.....any info would be appreciated.

i have very long hair...

it usually takes me like an hour

so i don't do it very often.

i wouldn't blow dry it first. just let

it air dry. remember the more

damage you do to your hair by

applying heat often only makes

it more unmanagable in the future.

Use a salon spray on each strand

before you pass the straightener through.

How hot does your straightener get?

my hair is very thick and curly and it takes me around 1 hour or more. I have a professional straightener also

i have long curly hair so what i do is the following

1. after the shower i apply leave in conditioner (garnier fructis)

2. apply garnier fructis wet shine gell

3. let it air dry

when done i straighten it with a flat iron it takes me like 25 to 30 min and then when im finishes i dab on a little bit of leave in conditioner and presto done

i only do this like every other day or so on because of all the damage this causes

Well, it depends... it usually get better with time. But I have shorter than shoulder-length hair that is quite thick and it takes me a good half an hour to style my hair. Tips: shampoo and condition your hair at night and straighten in the morning. And if you use a bristle brush and comb through your hair while at the same time using the flat iron above the brush, you don't need to run the iron more than once. A wider iron can make things easier too: 1.5 inches for long hair.

well since im a guy and my hair would be considered short compared to a girls but everyones hair is different so ill tell you how i do mine

my hair is very thick and wavy and when its wet its very curly

if im in a hurry then i blow dry. but letting it air dry makes it alot softer when im done. so if i let it air dry i wait till my hair is dry then i take my straightener and straighten alittle bit then i take my blow dryer just make a few passes over it then recomb it, then straighten again then just repeat the blow dryer and straighting process until you get your hair as straight as you want it

but having good shampoo and conditioner will make a ton of difference when straighting and drying your hair , but i use Bed Head by TIGI and its ok

and also when im done with my hair i take a fabric softener sheet (the kind you use for clothes in the dryer) and rub it on my hair and that makes it even more softer and alot less frizz/static but hey it works lol plus it gives it a great smell also lol

it really depends on your hair and your straightener. if you have a professional one, it shouldn't take long. i would recommend you get a sedu from folica.com it works so good and the have different heat setting and heat up in 30 seconds. i have one.

well i dont have extremely long hair but it is a few inches past my shoulders and it is wavy. anyway i take a shower at night (only when i straighten it) and then i blow dry it the go to sleep. in the morning sometimes i re-wet mt hair a little bit and then blow dry it again. if not then i just use my straightener and it takes me about 30 minutes

hope i helped
