i have shoulder length hair but it looks short because its curly. for my fifteens i want to have long hair but it takes forever to grow and i only have four years... what do i do???

You should start out by getting any dry looking ends cut off. I know it sounds counter-productive, but you should do this every 3 or 4 months because dry looking ends will only make your hair look shorter and they will break off. Since you hair is curly, ask for some light layers. A few weeks before your 15th, start experimenting with hairstyles. Try it straight, wavy, with your natural curl, as an up-do, with accessories, without accessories, etc. That way you'll know in advance how you want it so you aren't scrambling around the last few days before your party trying to figure out what you want.

P.S.- They say that your hair grows faster when you are hot, I read once that if you work out and break a sweat several times a week that it can help your hair grow faster. I don't know if that's true or not, but it won't hurt you and it's worth a try.

my hair is exactly the same. its shoulder length and curly. the ONLY way to make it grow faster is to NOT straighten ure hair with a straightener. i tend to like to straighten my curly hair but i stopped cuz it damages it and cuases split ends. and u know split ends makes hair break. so just keep ure hair natural, and get a TRIM ever 3 months and i GURANTEE it will be VERY LONG in about 3 years

when you get hair cut dont get a ton chopped of get it trimmed and make sure you get it trimmed when needed because split ends make you hair look so gross. or try getting extentions. Also 4 years is a long time if you only get trims in that time it should grow out pretty long.....

You can also just let it grow! no cuts, just trims. If the hairdresser says, "I think I should take about an inch or two off, that would look MUCH better, dahling" SAY NO! tell her (or him) that you are growing out your hair and no matter what she says that you will say no! (in a nicer way, of course.)

If you trim your hair regularly it helps it grow. I think every couple of months. I don't have this problem but an old friend did and she stopped cutting it and it stopped growing. When we would see each other, she would get mad because my hair was longer than hers, when the last time she saw me it was shorter. She asked me how that happened and I told her I dont' know, I just got it cut a week ago. She started getting it trimmed while it was straightened and it helped I think. She ended up cutting it off eventually. Which I couldn't believe because she was so obsessed with gettin git long.

It seems people with curly hair have this problem. I wonder why. Hmmm...
