Take prenatal vitamins. You can get them over the counter, and they do wonders for your hair. I've been taking them since I got pregnant with my son, and even after he was born. My hair grew longer, thicker and shinier.

i also have thin hair but just my roots are oily(only). my length is also to my bra strap. it grows very fast but i get it trimmed every 4-6 weeks (my ends get ratty if i don't) but i don't see my hair really getting any longer. it's weird, but i think it has to do with me getting it trimmed so often.
and it's been this length for about 10 years. i want very long hair but i don't see it happenning any time in the future.
you also have to remember that everyone is different, and that might not be your case, just take real good care of it.
